5/20/13: As the summer camp season approaches, it is time to double check and triple check that all the "forms" are completed so that "check-in" time at your camp experience goes smoothly.  If you have not completed the necessary forms (health form & the release /consent forms) use the links below to download the forms you need to complete.  You will also note the Camper Letters for each camp experience can be downloaded.  See you at camp this summer!

5/17/13:  Did you know that the congregations in SW & SE Oklahoma sponsor camp experience at Texoma Christian Camp?
Here is what is happenign at Texoma this summer.

June 2-7: Chi Rho/CYF
June 7-9: Water Weekend
June 17-20: Discovery/Junior

5/17/13: Did you know that all the camp directors and counselors are volunteers from Disciples congregations around the Region?  Thanks for supporting Outdoor Ministry.

5/17/13: Water Weekend at Texoma is June 7-9.  Bring your group or register your group today.  Water Weekend could still use a boat and boat driver or two.  Volunteer your boat and your time for this weekend on the lake.  Contact Michael for details and to volunteer.

5/1/13: After conversations with the camp director of Kid-n-Kin camp the Summer Ministry team decided to cancel Kid-n-Kin Camp.  With only 10 registered campers, 75% from one congregation, the director felt like it would not be a good experience and the financing of the week was not viable.  The Region needs at least 20 paying campers to make a summer camp experience financially viable unless it is planned for a small group from the outset.  Registered campers will be notivied by email today and tomorrow.  The CYYA looks forward to brining Kid-n-Kin back in the future.

4/25/13: Good News, the Chi Rho Camp Directors have recruited more adults and can accept 10 more campers of each gender to camp. The youth sponsors/ministers of those being welcomed to register from the waiting list are being contacted today and tomorrow.  Please do not call the office to register or ask about being added to the waiting list, but you can email Michael to be added to the list.  Michael is contacting persons in numerical order that they were put on the waiting list.  Thanks for your patience.

4/25/13: Discover Camp has reached its maximum registration and is now on a waiting list.  Email Michael to be added to the list.

3/25/13: With to few registration received  for Triple Camp @ Cross Point the Summer Ministry Team, in consultation with the camp director and with Michael, made the decision to cancel Triple Camp @ Cross Point for this year. Participants have been notified by email of their choice for attending a camp experience this summer.  Look for more innovative camp experiences in 2014 including a possible "High Adventure" week and a "Chi Rho Heifer Ranch Week."  More details this September!

2013 Camp Counselors

Here are some changes in the registration process to note.

1. Using our Online Registration Program will be the norm for 2013.  Each Camp Experience will have a "registration link" to click that will begin the process.

2. Congregations are asked to collect all forms and registration fees from families (many congregations pay half or all of the camp registration fee) and send one (1) check to the Region.

3. Campers will have at least three (3) forms to complete and return with the camp fees to finalize the registration process.  The forms are a Health Form, Over the Counter Medication Form, and a Consnet/Release form.  Those attending Chi Rho Camp or Triple Camp at Cross Point will have one (1) additional release form for those specific sites.

    Funding Ministry with
    Children, Youth, Young Adults

Your generous gifts to the Disciples Mission Fund or the Annual Fund do not underwrite the program ministries offered by CYYA. DMF Funding and Annual Fund giving underwrites the operation of the Regional Church (Disciples Center, staff salaries, benefits, and expenses, the Board and Commission work), but does not provide money for sponsoring the many events, retreats, and experiences of the program ministries offered by the Regional Church.  Please consider a gift to support CYYA Ministries and Summer Ministry.

    spacerSummer Ministry
Currently, each young person attending a summer ministry experience helps pay for the adult volunteers for that week. This fee is based on the number of campers that attend and the number of adults needed. Funds raised for Summer Ministry could lower the cost for everyone that attends a camp in the future no matter where it may be hosted.  Please consider a gift.

Make your check to Christian Church in Oklahoma and note in the memo line what program ministry you are supporting.

Mail To: 301 NW 36th Street / Oklahoma City, OK, 73118. Please indicate IAS or Summer Ministry in the memo line.
