The Regional Youth Council announces a change in date for Qahal/Koinonia to October 24-26. This change moves the event to earlier in the fall from its previous November date. The event is planned and led by the Regional Youth Council and is designed for Chi Rho & CYF Youth Groups with their adult sponsors. Mark your calendars now for a great weekend!
IAS 2015: Faith & Economics
International Affairs Seminar is a study trip for youth in grades 11 and 12 offered by the Region. Since its revival in 2011 this trip has grown in popularity from 8 the first year reaching 24 youth this year. IAS can be a significant experience, some youth have said "life changing," for participants and it requires an openness to new ideas, culture, pace of life, food, and some physical stamina. Connect with Rev. Michael Davison if you have questions and keep watch for the flyer & brochure in this space later this month.
Heifer Chi Rho Week 2015
The Youth Ministry Team & the Summer Ministry Team are working on plans to offer Chi Rho age youth (grades 6-8) an opportunity to experience the Heifer Ranch in Arkansas next year, March 16-20. The trip will be limited to a specific number of Chi Rho youth that has not been determined. Currently, the teams are working on a cost and are seeking individual or groups to donate to help underwrite the expense of the trip for youth and the adults that give their time. If you would more information about how you could help with funding this trip for Chi Rho youth please connect with Rev. Michael Davison.
Ministry: Children, Youth, Young Adults
Your generous gifts to the Disciples Mission Fund or the Annual Fund help the Region connect congregations, but they do not underwrite the program ministries offered by the Region. DMF Funding and Annual Fund giving underwrites the operation of the Region (Disciples Center, staff salaries, benefits, and expenses, the Board and Commission work), but does not provide money for sponsoring the many events, retreats, and experiences of the program ministries offered by the Region. Please consider a gift or any size to support CYYA Ministries.
Are you considering a "legacy gift" to fund a ministry in your congregation or through the Region? The Oklahoma Disciples Foundation does this kind of work to support ministries throughout the Disciples of Christ in Oklahoma.
Make your check to Christian Church in Oklahoma and note in the memo line what program ministry you are supporting.
Mail To: 301 NW 36th Street / Oklahoma City, OK, 73118. Please indicate IAS, Youth Ministry, Children's Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, Heifer Week, or Summer Ministry in the memo line.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Contact Rev. Michael Davison for more information about how you can support these missional ministries.
