- Approximately one year before the anniversary date, appoint five to seven members representing all age groups to serve as the Centennial Celebration Committee.
- Select a date or dates and a theme.
- Invite former pastors, pastor’s spouse or widowed spouses.
- Invite Regional Pastor(s) to present a Centennial Celebration Plaque at appropriate celebration such as a banquet, Sunday morning worship, etc. Please extend the invitation at least six months prior to the celebration.
- Invite city/county/state officials for appropriate proclamation/s.
- Invite former members and Timothy’s and Priscilla’s (people who were ordained in the church) to attend or send a letter.
- Contact the Disciple of Christ Historical Society, Nashville, TN at www.dishistsoc.org for anniversary celebration packet.
- Prepare a Historical Display.
- Video tape interviews with the six who have been members the longest. Edit the interviews and add other historical material that can be placed on video to be shown at an appropriate time during the celebration.
- Receive a special offering to support the celebration with 10 percent tithed to help establish a new congregation in the region.
- Select the appropriate person to serve as the Master of Ceremonies.
- Open time capsule if there is one and/or prepare a time capsule for the bicentennial celebration.
