THE PLAN

"Therefore, be it resolved that the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Oklahoma develop a 'Licensed Lay Preachers' Training Program."

Note: The title is now "Licensed Minister Training Program," reflecting a May 2001 decision by the Commission on Clergy to replace the singular license for "Lay Preacher" with licensing for two categories:

  • Licensed Congregational Minister -- For licensed persons serving in a pastoral role with a local congregation.
  • Licensed Commissioned Minister -- For persons serving in other vocations (such as hospice chaplain, volunteer chaplain, youth workers, education directors, etc.) where an endorsement or license is required.
