News Of Our Congregations

EL RENO -- The LOGOS Ministry began at First Christian Church after hearing about the program at a regional denominational leadership training.   The Director of Children and Youth came back to the Education Task Force, after several months of insistence, the task force agreed to send a few people to training.   After attending Leadership Training School in Kansas, a group of three women came back and began the process of prayerfully planning all of the details to could begin LOGOS with the Jr High and High School Youth.
That first spring semester the church had seven youth, several who attended worship but none of the youth activities.   That fall the church opened LOGOS up to the elementary age children.   Through much prayer, hard work, loving adults, and children sharing this ministry with their friends they now have 50 to 60 children and youth filling the church building on Wednesday evenings.   They have had to add two more tables for dinner in the last month.   When children are excited about something, they share their excitement with others.   This was evident at the Church’s Ash Wednesday Service where all of the children and youth joined together to sing a song and the entire chancel was filled with smiling faces.   LOGOS changes children, youth, adults, and even churches.
