Annual Fund Gifts Empower Others for Ministry

Your gift to the Annual Fund works in many areas of ministry, but one that always stands out is that of empowering others for their own ministry.

Hundreds of Disciple Women have just attended “Previews,” which prepare them for ministry in their home church by introducing new study, mission and worship materials, offering workshops for leader training, and a manual for each congregation entitled, “Tools for Leadership,” along with other resources. Registrations for Encounter, the regional women’s spiritual retreat, are already being processed.

Training for Camp Directors and Counselors continues a long tradition of preparing people for ministry with children, youth and young adults, and the camps themselves empower young people to stronger faith and Christian commitment.

The Transformation Initiative is an amazing new movement that will offer training, long term support, guidance and resources for people who are excited about renewing their church and its ministry.

And while existing congregations learn how to bring new life to old, support, encouragement and guidance for new church starts continues so that our ministry continues to expand in Oklahoma.

Shared mission trips and training for it’s leaders give many the chance to do first-hand ministry with those whose needs are so great.   A new page on the regional website offers dates and contact for regional mission opportunities.   And of course, all area projects are made possible because of regional support and communication.

Finally, but most importantly, it would be impossible for any of the many training opportunities, the guidance, support, vision sharing that go into empowering us for ministry to exist without our dedicated regional staff who give so generously of themselves so that Oklahoma Disciples may effectively accomplish the ministries God has called us to.

A gift to the 2007 Annual Fund helps fund the faithful and growing future to which God calls us.
