Living Through The Cross
"Looking Inward"March 15, 2008
|
Please read 2 Corinthians 4:13-18I recently watched the first produced Star Wars movie (yet again!) and there is a compelling scene with Luke Skywalker to use technological support to lock in on his target. He has all this sophisticated equipment to assist him in locating his objective and yet, he has trouble doing so. Then he hears the voice of his deceased mentor speaking to him, speaking to his heart...telling him to let go, to listen within and to trust what he feels. It is only when he does so, that he is able to successfully lock in on his objective.
I am reminded of how often I try to get things done without first centering myself by looking inward and seeking God’s will instead of relying on my own devices. I often look at what is seen and forget to look on what is unseen. Temporary things will pass away but what is unseen, yet felt, is eternal.
Prayer: Abba, We know that this life & its troubles are only temporary in the great scheme of things. We know because you sent your son to be sacrificed and to be gloriously raised to show us of your great love and great promise. Amen
