Living Through The Cross
"Ready to Throw Stones?"March 10, 2008

Please read: John 8:1-11I especially like this verse because it tells me that I need to look at myself first before I pass judgment on another person. Is any one of us without sin? No, only Jesus can make that claim. But how quickly do we judge? We judge others on first impressions, their appearance, their homes or their possessions. Is it our place to judge others? No, that privilege is reserved for God because he alone knows what is in a persons’ heart.
None of us is without sin, especially the “little sins” in our lives. Usually we are not even aware of them. Some of them are pretense, pride, worry, grudges, little white lies, gossip and on and on. But these are the things that separate us from God. We need to lay them at God’s feet and ask for His forgiveness. Just as Christ asked for forgiveness for us as he was hanging on that cross, we need to ask God’s forgiveness for the sins in our lives. By cleansing our hearts before God we can begin to draw closer to the One who loves us most.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask for your forgiveness for the sins in my life. Lay it upon my heart those things that separate me from You so that I may change my ways and draw closer to You. Amen
