Living Through The Cross

"Life is an Open Book Test"

March 8, 2008

Please read: Psalm 7:6-11
“You who tests the minds and hearts O righteous God.” Psalm7:11 (NIV)

If this life is a test, do you ever wonder if you are making a passing grade?   I often find myself struggling with daily decision making -- everything from to which schools I should send my children to whether I should go for a run at the gym or outside.   I constantly feel tested; my patience, my endurance and of course, my faith.   Certainly I am not alone when I say that my faith is tested on a daily basis.   Anyone who reads today’s headlines will lament that at times it feels as if God is too far away.   Yet the scripture reminds us that our God is a righteous God.   The trials and tribulations that we encounter on a daily basis are actually Gods way of letting us know that God is near and, most importantly, that God cares.   I am grateful that our lives are a series of multiple choice questions, because if we pick B and it turns out to be wrong, we can always go back and pick A.   And of course, the extra credit is that we believe that Jesus is the Son of the Living God and that we have accepted him as our Lord and Savior.

Prayer: Most Gracious God, thank you for guiding us through the open book test of life.   Amen
