Living Through The Cross

Please Read: 1 Corinthians 12:12-26As a mother, I reflect on the birth of my children. The first thing I did was count their arms, legs, fingers and toes. In the center was this perfectly pink round belly and small chest, containing all the vital organs needed for their survival. Atop all of this was a beautiful face. Each component working with each other to breathe, move and cry.
In our church, there are many different limbs or parts, but we all serve one body. We are all here for one purpose, to serve our God. Sometimes it is very difficult for us to appreciate each individual as they are. God has intentionally made each one of us different so that we may all contribute in a variety of ways. Some are great leaders while others would rather follow. Some are comfortable speaking in front of the church while some are not. If we remember we serve one body and one Christ, we are more apt to accept the differences of each individual offering their personal gift, whatever it may be, to Christ.
Prayer: Lord I ask that you guide me during this Lenten season to remember I am one of many parts of your body of Christ. Grant me guidance in accepting each individual as a part of your body. Amen
